The Dubai government announces the weekend, Saturday and Sunday, and Friday is half a working day

The Government of the Emirate of Dubai has announced the change of the weekly work system in the emirate to comply with the new system in the federal government, and its application to all government agencies in the Emirates starting from January 1, 2022.

According to the new work system, working days will be from Monday to Thursday, half working days will be on Friday, and the weekly holiday will be on Saturday and Sunday, while Sunday, January 2, will be an official holiday. This comes within the framework of the emirate's direction to keep pace with the vision of the UAE to enhance its position in global competitiveness in the economic and business sectors, and to consolidate its position on the world economic map, and as a business center that is the most active, most efficient and effective of its kind in the region, and to improve the quality of life in the Emirati society and achieve a balance between personal life and work requirements, which will reflect positively on family life and achieve a qualitative leap in the state’s economic performance.

According to the new system, official working hours in the Emirate of Dubai will be from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm from Monday to Thursday (8 working hours), and from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm on Friday (4 and a half hours).
