The Emirates announces a reduction in hotel room and restaurant fees, On Friday, the Department of Culture and Tourism—Abu Dhabi (DCT—Abu Dhabi) made the announcement that it had reduced the government fees that were applied to hotels in the emirate.

This move is intended to support the continued growth of the hospitality and tourism sector, as well as enhance Abu Dhabi's position as a leading global leisure and tourism destination.

The modification is scheduled to go into effect on September 1, 2023, and it comes as a result of orders from the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. These directives were given in an effort to further encourage residents and tourists alike to appreciate the hospitality that is provided in the emirate. The purpose of this fee adjustment is to further develop the emirate as a tourism and cultural destination while also strengthening support for the emirate's flourishing hospitality sector.

The adjustments to the government fees include lowering the tourism cost that is charged to guests from six percent to four percent, eliminating the municipality fee that is charged at the rate of Dh15 per room per night, and eliminating the tourism fee that is charged at the rate of six percent as well as the municipality fee that is charged at the rate of four percent that is applied to hotel restaurants. There will be no change to the municipality charge, which is now equal to 4% of the total value of the invoice sent to the consumer.

As part of its mission, the Department of Culture and Tourism — Abu Dhabi (DCT — Abu Dhabi) strives to improve the quality of tourism, culture, and hospitality services provided throughout the emirate. DCT – Abu Dhabi aspires to ensure sustainable growth and long-term success by curating a diversified selection of experiences that respond to the preferences and interests of a wide spectrum of people.

Earlier, a new strategic alliance had been signed in order to boost the aviation connection between Abu Dhabi and Europe. This was done as part of the United Arab Emirates Capital's plan to promote the emirate as a preferred tourism destination and to attract more than 24 million tourists by the end of 2023.

At the Louvre Abu Dhabi, DCT Abu Dhabi and the Dutch-French airline firm Air France-KLM signed a memorandum of understanding. The alliance increases Abu Dhabi's connectivity to the rest of the world by providing daily flights to Paris.

The Director General of tourist at DCT – Abu Dhabi, Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, mentioned that the cooperation represents DCT – Abu Dhabi's commitment to promote, defend, and grow the tourist sector of Abu Dhabi and to enhance the emirate's status as a global destination.

"We are enabling visitors from all over the world to visit and witness our diverse culture and rich heritage by cultivating long-term partnerships with reputable international carriers," said the mayor of the city. This improved connectivity not only improves the travel experience for customers but also promotes Abu Dhabi as an extra access point to the Eastern markets.
