Since his appointment last November, Director of the Coordination and Follow-up Department at the Ministry of Education, Miteb Al-Otaibi, has made a qualitative leap in this department, especially with the educational and technical development.
The sources stated that Al-Otaibi presented a plan that included several proposals to the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Education for discussion, and submitted it to the Minister of Education for approval related to the advancement of the educational process, explaining that the procedures for promotion to supervisory positions are considered among the positions in the educational body among the most important competencies of the coordination department in the public education sector.
Al-Otaibi explained that the supervisory jobs bulletin for the current year has been issued and includes a number of observations, in addition to some suggestions presented by people in the field, educational districts, and the Teachers Syndicate. We hope to agree to form a committee to discuss and listen to viewpoints to be approved by the Undersecretary.
The sources continued that these proposals include reducing the years of experience for some supervisory positions (according to waiting lists), opening the way for some specializations that do not carry the title of head of the educational materials department, and studying the teachers’ union’s proposals regarding the bulletin for supervisory jobs.
It also included reducing the quorum of technical advisors in all academic fields, studying the possibility of appointing department heads in departments with a high density of teachers, studying including the experience of candidates for the nomination year, and addressing the Civil Service and Employment Commission to be approved by supervisors, and finally to amend the internal regulations of the school system council.
Al-Otaibi stressed the necessity of establishing departments to manage coordination and follow-up in all educational regions, noting that the coordination department is one of the most important educational technical departments in the public education sector, as it is responsible for the work of a large group and a number of administrative organizational decisions related to members of the educational and supervisory body.
It also contributes significantly to enhancing the performance of the educational system and meeting its needs for teachers, department heads, assistant principals, school principals, and mentors for all subjects and fields of study and for all educational levels.
To facilitate the role of the Coordination Body and support the educational regions that contribute to linking those regions to the public education sector, a proposal was presented to establish departments to manage coordination and follow-up in all educational regions. If approved, we will complete all procedures and prepare the job description, tasks and approvals from the competent authorities:
1- Council of Agents
2- Human Resources Management - Organizational Unit
3- Employment Monitors - Civil Service
Transfers and appointments:
Al-Otaibi also revealed several decisions aimed at organizing the process of transfer, assignment, opening of schools, their needs and contracts, pointing out the keenness of the Coordination Department in the public education sector to improve the workflow in the Ministry of Education and all educational district administrations.
Its role was explained as a department that organizes the transfer and appointment procedures for members of the educational and supervisory staff, whether “external transfer or internal transfer”, A special coordination calendar was presented for everything related to the dates of decisions of interest to those working in the educational field for review.
