On account of Eid Al Adha, a lengthy hiatus of nine days is possible in 2024.

Upcoming UAE Public Holidays

As the curtain falls on the recent Islamic New Year long weekend, UAE residents are eagerly anticipating their next opportunity for respite. While many might speculate that the next substantial break will be the UAE National Day in December, a pleasant surprise awaits.

Prophet Muhammad's Birthday

The next official holiday, which commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), is scheduled to occur much sooner than expected on September 29. This fortunate event coincides with a typical weekend in a way that easily extends the holiday till Sunday. UAE citizens will enjoy the last long weekend of the year with this gift of more free time.

The observance of the Prophet's birthday, or 12 Rabi’ Al-Awwal 1445, is a cherished tradition in many Islamic countries, including those within the Gulf region.

UAE National Day

While the year winds down, two significant holidays remain: December 2 and 3, commemorating the UAE's National Day. Although these dates fall on a Saturday and Sunday official weekends for most residents the celebratory spirit will remain unwavering. Residents can indulge in a plethora of special events and enticing discounts that characterize this patriotic holiday.

Eid Al Fitr 2024

For those with grand plans for an extended escapade next year, the promise of a 9-day break for Eid Al Fitr awaits in the first half of 2024. Astronomical calculations point to April 10, 2024, as the projected date for Eid. However, this anticipation is subject to potential shifts based on moon sightings and official declarations.

As the UAE continues to weave together its rich cultural tapestry, these upcoming holidays offer not only moments of rejuvenation but also opportunities to embrace the nation's heritage and traditions.
