The Kuwaiti Emiri Diwan announced a short while ago the death of Prince Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the country, who passed away this morning, Saturday, December 16, 2023.
The official Kuwait News Agency had previously reported that the Emir of the country, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, was admitted to the hospital due to an emergency health problem.
The agency quoted the Minister of the Amiri Diwan as saying that the Emir of Kuwait “was admitted to the hospital this morning following an emergency health problem to receive the necessary treatment and undergo medical examinations, and that his health condition is stable.

His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has been the Emir of the State of Kuwait since September 29, 2020, and the sixteenth Emir and the sixth after independence from the United Kingdom. He is the sixth son of Sheikh Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the former ruler of Kuwait, and his wife Al-Yamamah.
