Dubai : DEWA launches a ChatGPT experiment to boost the capabilities of Rammas

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) revealed the pilot use of ChatGPT on its website through Rammas, DEWA's virtual employee, beginning in April 2023, as part of its strategy to employ artificial intelligence (AI) technologies across all of its operations and services.

DEWA is eager to improve the client experience by providing smart services that save them time and effort by utilising cutting-edge artificial intelligence solutions. This contributes to the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031, the Dubai 10X programme, and the Smart Dubai initiative, all of which aim to make Dubai the world's smartest and happiest city. This is also part of our efforts to use AI in all of our services and operations in order to reduce the number of visits to our customer happiness centres and to help shape a new digital future for Dubai through Digital DEWA, our digital arm, which aims to make DEWA the world's first digital utility".

Moreover , Rammas has successfully responded to over seven million inquiries since its introduction in the first quarter of 2017 and will continue to do so until the end of April 2023. ChatGPT's superior capacity to connect with users and better understand their demands will contribute to the enhancement of its capabilities. It will also improve its ability to learn, comprehend, and interpret consumer inquiries based on available data and facts, allowing it to react quickly and accurately.

DEWA is implementing ChatGPT to enhance its services. As it is considered to be the world's first utility and the UAE's first government agency to utilise this cutting-edge technology as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen its leadership locally and worldwide.
