The Public Prosecution Office in Dubai has started the "Smart Payment of Fines" service so that people who have been found guilty of a crime and given a fine can pay it, stop the search, and automatically be allowed to move or leave the country.

In Dubai, there were 2,080 missing judgements in the last year, and 63% of them were carried out.

The Public Prosecution Office in Dubai said that the smart payment service for fines would speed up the process of carrying out judgements in absentia and increase the rate of execution.

Statistics on default judgements show that the average amount of time it takes to carry out is 34 days, and 59% of judgements in absentia are carried out within 15 working days.

Shamsa Salem Al-Marri, Director of the Strategy and Institutional Excellence Department and Head of the Service Improvement Team, said that the smart payment service for fines is a proactive digital channel that is added to the package of prosecution services that are in line with the 360 services policy. The 360 services policy is an integrated digital system that meets the needs of customers, and all sectors and institutions compete to provide it.

She also said that the service lets people pay fines for criminal judgements where a fine is issued for judgements in presence, in absentia, and legal presence, for the stages of litigation (primary, appeal, cassation), through electronic and smart channels. This lets the customer cancel the arrest warrant and stop searching in coordination with Dubai Police.

Al-Marri confirmed that the service will reflect on the customers and meet their needs and expectations by reducing the number of times they have to go to the Public Prosecution headquarters to announce a default judgement and pay fines. It will also make the payment process and related procedures easier by using smart and digital tools that save time, effort, and trouble than having to go to the service in person.

Concerning how to get the smart payment service for fines, it said that the customer can pay the fine amount in three different ways. Then you can easily pay the fine online.

She said that the third method is represented by payment machines that are located in different places and can accept banknotes of all denominations, with a paper of each denomination in each payment process until the full amount of the fine is paid, or through electronic payment by cards.

The third method is on the website of the Public Prosecution, where the customer can log in using the digital ID and pay the fine electronically. And when the decision is final, the ban on leaving is released and the cops are told to stop searching and lift the ban on leaving And when the decision is final, the ban on leaving is released and the cops are told to stop searching and lift the ban on leaving.
