The developer of the most popular messaging app in the world, WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, recently announced the enhancement of the application's message search tool by including the capability to narrow results by date.
Narrow your search to a specific message
According to the most recent beta version of this functionality, the new feature allows users to filter the search for a specific message in discussions based on a specific date.
However, the company stated that this feature is still in the works, but it is expected to be available to all users and operating systems shortly.
Resort messages in search results
When using the search tool in chats, the calendar symbol displays in the search bar at the top of the screen, and when you click on it, the calendar interface opens, allowing you to enter the required date to re-sort messages in the search results.
It's worth mentioning that the ability to search for messages by date is already present in the stable version of the WhatsApp app for iPhones, and it was just made available to users of the beta version of "WhatsApp Web."
Using the feature on iPhones
On iPhones, tap the profile image in the chat, then tap the search symbol, and the calendar icon will display in the lower right corner of the screen.
When searching in individual and group discussions, the ability to sort messages by date will be available. To improve access to the messages being searched, this capability will be added to existing capabilities for sorting search results.
WhatsApp just introduced a slew of new capabilities, including the ability to use several accounts at the same time, exchange high-quality photographs and videos, share the screen during video conversations, and more.
WhatsApp message search update launch date
The latest beta version of the app revealed the change. This option is in development and should be available soon.
However, all rumors indicate that WhatsApp will upgrade its message search tool in early December.
