His Majesty Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates and a member of the Supreme Council, has issued directives to the emirate's competent authorities. He has issued a directive for them to commence the inventory and analysis of the damage inflicted upon the emirate as a result of the adverse weather conditions.
Furthermore, a directive has been issued by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah to the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure regarding the restoration of the valley drainage in the Emirate of Fujairah. The Ministry was duly informed of this directive. The obstruction of these sewers led to the accumulation of a considerable volume of precipitation in residential areas situated within the municipality of Kalba.
His Highness also directed the Sharjah Police General Command and the Sharjah Civil Defense Authority to work and coordinate with the Department of Social Services, the emirate’s municipalities, and the competent authorities that provide logistical support in operations to confront the effects of the weather condition, begin assessing the damage, and expedite the provision of possible means of support that guarantee the stability of the population. The efforts of the field work teams, which included volunteers from the general public and residents, as well as personnel of government and military ministries and bodies, were greatly appreciated by His Highness.
