We publish for you the start date of the holy month of Ramadan, as well as the Eid al-Fitr holiday 2024 in the Emirates

The UAE is just ninety days away from the Islamic month of Ramadan. Muslims fast throughout Ramadan, which is regarded as the holiest month in Islam, from sunrise to sunset. Across the nation, life generally slows down, with fewer office hours and a generally spiritual vibe in the air.

The Islamic calendar's ninth month is called Ramadan. The beginning of this month, like all others in the Hijri calendar, is established by the sighting of the crescent moon. The exact dates will depend on moon sightings and be declared by the government, although astronomical calculations may reasonably correctly estimate the most probable dates.

When does 2024 Ramadan start? What kind of weather might we expect then?
Ramadan will start on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, according to the Hijri calendar that is available on the website of the Dubai Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD). Since the UAE is entering the spring season, the surrounding temperatures will be chilly. Around that time, schools will be closed for either the spring break or the conclusion of the semester.

How long will the fast last?

The 2024 fasting window will be shorter than the 2023 one.

Muslims fast for thirteen hours and sixteen minutes on the first day of the holy month. The amount of time spent fasting will have approached 14 hours by the end of the month. The duration of the fast in 2023 varied from 13 hours and 33 minutes to 14 hours and 16 minutes.

When does Ramadan finish?

The IACAD calendar predicts that the holy month will span 29 days, with Tuesday, April 9, being the last day of fasting.

When is the 2024 Eid Al Fitr?

Islamic holiday Eid Al Fitr is celebrated after the month-long fast. The event is set to provide the longest official vacation for locals in 2024. The Ramadan 29 to Shawwal 3 period has been designated as a public holiday by the government. The calendar indicates that the equivalent days in the Gregorian calendar are Tuesday, April 9, through Friday, April 12. This is a six-day hiatus when the Saturday-Sunday weekend is taken into account.
