Can foreigners get citizenship in UAE? And How much does it cost? AND Is it hard to get citizenship in UAE?

UAE GOLDEN VISA

Selected investors and specialists can apply for the UAE's Golden Visa. If certain qualifications are completed, the Golden Visa program will provide foreign nationals a five- or ten-year resident visa. High-net-worth investors, entrepreneurs, scientists, medical experts, outstanding talents (sports, arts & culture, digital technology, inventors and innovators), humanitarian pioneers, and frontline heroes are eligible for this program. Investors must deposit 2,000,000 AED + fees.

UAE GOLDEN VISA FOR INVESTMENT

The easiest way to get a UAE Golden Visa without remarkable talent is through money. Applicants must buy a UAE home or off-plan real estate for at least 2,000,000 AED (545,000 USD) plus expenses. Applicants receive a five-year renewable long-term residence permit.

Depositing 2,000,000 AED in an authorized UAE investment fund gets you a 10-year residency visa. Investors must additionally pay 250,000 AED to the Federal Tax Authorities annually.

UAE CITIZENSHIP BY INVESTMENT

The UAE only issues residency permits to foreigners. No citizenship-by-investment program exists. UAE law was revised in 2021 to allow extraordinary abilities to petition for citizenship. Citizenship will only be granted to those nominated and assessed by the UAE cabinet, executive councils, or courts after a period of residency.

Even with professional experience, the UAE citizenship process is complicated. The most difficult aspect of the process is being nominated by the Rulers and Crown Princes Courts, Executive Councils, and Cabinet. We can help you get a Golden Visa residency by investing AED 2M (USD 545K) in real estate. The 2019 Golden Visa scheme allows holders to live, work, and study in the UAE without local sponsorship and enjoy Emirates ID benefits.

Foreigners can only stay for 2-3 years legally. The general working visa has an extension option. In 2019, the 5-to-10-year long-term visa program eased immigration. Investors, academics, marketing students, and Emirate-demanded professionals can receive them. Long-term visas might include spouses and minor children.

UAE citizenship was only available in three cases:

  • UAE-noncitizen marriage. Citizenship requires a 7-year marriage.
  • Naturalization. This approach requires foreigners to live in the Emirates for 30 years. They also need a steady UAE income and a clean record. They must speak Arabic and give up their citizenship.
  • Merits. UAE passports from emirate leaders are rare. The UAE Government allowed this method.

The list of suitable residents was broadened and double-citizenship was approved in January 2021.
