The Pakistani and Indian diplomatic missions in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have established dedicated helpline numbers for their respective citizens in response to the unprecedented rainfall experienced in the country on Tuesday.

With approximately 3.6 million Indian nationals and 1.7 million Pakistanis residing and employed in the UAE, constituting over half of the nation's population of over 9.5 million, the provision of assistance during this challenging time is of paramount importance.

Pakistan's Ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, has issued directives to ensure comprehensive support for affected Pakistani nationals, emphasizing the commitment to extending all possible assistance to the community in the aftermath of the heavy rainfall.

To facilitate aid efforts, Hussain Muhammad, Consul-General at the Pakistan Consulate in Dubai, has mobilized a specialized team to provide assistance to Pakistani travelers stranded at Dubai airport due to flight delays. The team's proactive approach aims to offer necessary aid and support to affected individuals.

The UAE witnessed its most substantial rainfall in 75 years on Tuesday, resulting in flooding across various residential areas in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and other regions. Consequently, the government has encouraged private sector organizations to permit employees to work remotely from home to ensure safety amidst the adverse weather conditions.

For Pakistani nationals seeking assistance following the recent rains, the missions have provided dedicated helpline numbers:

  • In Abu Dhabi and Al Ain: WhatsApp: +971 50 124 8934 Call: +971 2444 7800
  • In Dubai and the Northern Emirates: WhatsApp: +971 4 397 3600 Call: +971 5664 72721

Similarly, the Indian Consulate in Dubai has also released helpline numbers for Indian citizens affected by the severe weather conditions in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. Those in need of assistance can reach out to the following numbers: +971 5012 05172, +971 5699 50590, +971 5073 47676, and +971 5857 54213.
