WhatsApp officially allows the creation of two accounts on the same phone

Meta has updated the WhatsApp app with a new feature that allows users to create two profiles on one phone and simply switch between them. To use two different WhatsApp accounts, you will not need to use a third device or repeatedly log out of your account.

This new function allows you to create a WhatsApp account for work and another for contacting friends and family.

What are the requirements for setting up two WhatsApp accounts on the same phone?

To set up two WhatsApp accounts on the same phone, you'll need a separate phone number and SIM card, or a phone that permits multiple SIM cards or eSIM. In order to access your second account on a different device, you'll also need the second phone to receive the one-time passcode issued by WhatsApp via SMS.

After you've added a new account, you may effortlessly switch between them to access conversations, communities, and calls associated with each one.

Open a Second WhatsApp Account: A Step-by-Step Guide

For the purpose of creating a second account on WhatsApp, you have the option of adding a completely new number or a number from another phone. Ensure that you are aware of the fact that you should not delete the account from the other device before adding it to the new device. WhatsApp will send a verification number to the other device, so it is essential that you be aware of this fact before you begin the process of creating the account.

  1. To use WhatsApp on your Android device, open the Application.
  2. Pick Settings from the menu that appears with three dots in the top right corner of the screen.
  3. Select the arrow located in the upper right corner of the screen, beside the photo of your profile and the phone number.
  4. Choose to Add an Account.
  5. This will bring up a screen that allows you to create a new account. You will be required to choose your country and provide your phone number after you have given your approval to the terms of service.
  6. The message that appears after you have successfully authenticated your phone number will inquire as to whether you would like to transfer or back up the contents of your account from an older phone, or whether you would rather proceed directly to the Personal Account Information screen in order to set up your new account.

How to Make Changes to Your WhatsApp Account

It is possible to switch between WhatsApp accounts in a short amount of time. Once your second account is ready, a new option will appear in the main menu that will let you to switch between the two accounts.

The option to switch accounts can be accessed by clicking on the menu icon that looks like three dots and is located in the upper right corner of the screen.
