UAE issues adecision regarding the Eid al-Fitr holiday

On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, the United Arab Emirates has made a determination.

On Sunday, the government of the United Arab Emirates proposed a one-week holiday for its employees working in the public sector.

Employees of the federal government will be able to participate in the festivities beginning on Monday, April 8, and continuing until Sunday, April 14. The following Monday, April 15, would then mark the return of regular business hours.

Number of days of Eid al-Fitr holiday in the UAE

A nine-day holiday will be offered to federal government employees in order to celebrate Eid al Fitr, which marks the conclusion of the month-long period of fasting. This is due to the fact that Saturday and Sunday are the official weekend days in the United Arab Emirates.

The start date of the Eid al-Fitr holiday in the UAE

The official start of the holiday will be on April 8 regardless of whether or not the moon is currently visible. The length of time that Ramadan is observed on the Islamic calendar is either 29 or 30 days, depending on when the Moon is visible. On the first of Shawwal, which is the month that follows Ramadan, the holiday of Eid al-Fitr is observed.
