The UAE announces reduced speed limits on these major roads to 100 km/h due to fog

Ahmed Moawad - | UAE

Abu Dhabi Police issued an urgent decision to activate the system to reduce speeds on several roads in light of the rainy weather conditions witnessed in the United Arab Emirates during the recent period.

Abu Dhabi Police announced via its official account on the X platform (formerly Twitter) that a system has been activated to limit speeds on the Hazza Bin Zayed Road (Ghayathi - Madinat Zayed).

It is worth noting that Abu Dhabi Police had previously announced the activation of a system that would limit speeds to 100 km/h on both the Al Ain-Abu Dhabi (Al Amra - Al Khazna) and Al Ain-Dubai (Al Haer - Al Faqa) roads.

The police urged drivers to exercise caution due to the rainy weather and to follow the variable speed limit posted on signs and electronic signs.

It is worth noting that the National Center of Meteorology in the United Arab Emirates predicts that the weather tomorrow will be fair to partly cloudy in general, with cloudy periods in some areas, with a chance of rain in the east and south during the day.

The center also predicted high temperatures and humid conditions at night and Monday morning, with fog or light mist forming over some coastal and inland areas, as well as light to moderate-speed winds that could be active at times.

It is worth noting that the UAE tour has been plagued by weather instability since dawn the day before, with heavy and moderate rain falling in various parts of the country.

Meteorologists predicted that this condition would last until the end of the day, with the possibility of thunderstorms and hail at times.

Dubai Police has issued a warning about the dangers of this weather condition to vehicle safety and advised drivers to exercise caution while driving. It also announced that owners of vehicles that had broken down due to rain could obtain a "To Whom It May Concern" certificate electronically.
