The UAE Meteorological Center issued a warning to residents of severe weather conditions, which are expected to hit several areas in the United Arab Emirates this weekend.

Heavy rain fell on several areas in the United Arab Emirates during the night, as residents woke up to rain, dark skies, and strong winds.

For its part, the National Center of Meteorology explained that the country is witnessing today the peak of the weather condition that has been affected since the evening of the day before yesterday, as a result of the extension of a surface air depression, accompanied by the extension of an air depression in the upper layers of the atmosphere.

The National Center of Meteorology in the United Arab Emirates added that the weather today will be unstable, partly cloudy to cloudy with some cumulus clouds over various areas of the country, with rain of varying intensities continuing to fall, accompanied by lightning and thunder.

The center also announced a drop in temperatures today, adding that the winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly, moderate to brisk, and sometimes strong, with clouds stirring up dust and dirt, leading to a decrease in horizontal visibility.

The wind speed, according to what was announced by the National Center of Meteorology, reaches 20 to 40 kilometers per hour, reaching 70 kilometers on the sea, where the average wave is turbulent with clouds in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.

It is worth noting that the UAE has witnessed, over the past two days, unpleasant weather, partly cloudy to cloudy, interspersed with some cumulus clouds over various areas of the country, with rain falling of varying intensity, accompanied by lightning and thunder, and moderate to active winds, which were strong at times, with clouds raising dust and dirt. It led to a decrease in horizontal visibility.

The National Center of Meteorology expected that the chance of rain will continue this morning, especially in the eastern and northern regions, and that it will be heavy to moderate, pointing out that during the night hours the amounts of clouds and rain will gradually decrease.
