Ahmed Moawad - | UAE

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, and Customs and Ports Security in the United Arab Emirates issued new UAE visa rules and announced fines of up to 20,000 dirhams due to administrative violations. The authority warned entities and individuals of violations related to residency and identity.

The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship and Customs and Ports Security in the United Arab Emirates classified a group of administrative violations related to residency services, affairs of foreigners and residents in the Emirates, and the Emirates ID card.

It is noteworthy that the fines announced by the Authority range from 20 to 20 thousand dirhams, depending on the type of violation, as the fine for issuing visas or entry permits to an establishment that does not conduct any activity reaches 20 thousand dirhams.

The Authority also identified, through its International Comparison Program, 14 types of violations that apply to identity, in addition to services related to residency in the Emirates and foreigners’ affairs.

The fine for a client failing to pay for ICP services provided, or obstructing the work of ICP staff, is up to 5,000 AED.

There is also a fine for non-compliance with the pledge made by people to the International Comparison Programme, in addition to violating the work system in service centers, not showing the representative card while submitting transactions, the expiration of the representative card, or submitting transactions via e-Dirham that do not belong to the facility in which he works. Representative to AED 500, the same fines that also apply to an institution that provides details to the ICP Passport Officer of a person who is not a legitimate representative of the institution.

The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship in the UAE also announced a fine of 20 dirhams per day (with a maximum of 1,000 dirhams) for not renewing the Emirates ID card within 30 days of its expiration date, in addition to a fine of 100 dirhams for printing user requests inaccurately.

If a UAE resident provides incorrect data, a fine of up to 3,000 UAE dirhams will be imposed on him.
