Dubai residents who have lost property in the storm may now reach out to officials via WhatsApp to get assistance.
A special committee has been formed in response to the recent storm in Dubai, tasked with addressing the needs of affected citizens. This initiative stems from the directive of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, urging authorities to prepare for extreme weather events. Led by Omar Hamad Bushahab, Executive Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment, the committee's primary objective is to evaluate requests from affected individuals and prioritize the restoration of their damaged properties.
To streamline communication and facilitate assistance, a dedicated WhatsApp hotline (0583009000) has been established for citizens to submit their requests for support. The Committee for the Care of Affected People in Dubai, comprising representatives from various government entities, will oversee the handling of these requests. Their focus will be on expediting repairs and rehabilitation efforts to expedite the resumption of normalcy across the emirate.
Sheikh Hamdan's directive also extends to collaboration with the Dubai Land Department and the Real Estate Regulatory Agency, which will work closely with developers and residential complex management firms. Their goal is to ensure prompt restoration of affected areas and the provision of essential services without imposing additional charges. These services include offering alternative housing options, distributing food supplies to affected residents, and conducting sterilization and pest control measures to mitigate further disruptions.
By mobilizing resources and coordinating efforts across multiple sectors, Dubai aims to mitigate the impact of the recent storm and support affected citizens in rebuilding their lives. This proactive approach reflects the government's commitment to safeguarding the welfare of its residents and maintaining the resilience of the emirate in the face of adversity.
