The PMMS project being undertaken by the RTA is an all-encompassing automated road condition assessment system. "It also records the current state of the paving." to guarantee that they will continue to be in pristine shape and that they will continue to fulfil the prerequisites for the safety and comfort of those who use the roads. The RTA has been able to automate these routine inspections thanks to the Pavement Management and Maintenance System (PMMS). The purpose of the inspection is to identify surface deterioration in asphalt pavement, such as cracks, depressions, pits, and decay. This is exemplified in the utilising cutting-edge laser technology to provide an indication of the level of driving comfort, the quality of the pavement, or the degree to which the road is rough.
